Installation of Solar Panels
The Koinadugu Development Corporation (KDC) is pleased to announce the commencement of the third phase in our commitment to establishing a fully functional Computer Learning Centre at Kabala Secondary School. This phase involves the installation of solar panels to provide electricity to the building housing the Computer Learning Centre. In the coming days, the computers will be set up, programmed, and made ready for use by both instructors and students.
The first phase of this project involved identifying the need for a computer learning center at the school and raising the necessary funds to purchase the computers. The second phase included the acquisition of 24 desktop computers, along with their screens and all required peripherals, and arranging for their shipment from Massachusetts, USA, to the school. KDC End Of Year Report
As we approach the end of the year, the KDC organization has much to be grateful for and much more to be proud of. First and foremost, we are thankful that all our members remain healthy, happy, and still dedicated to achieving our organizational goals. We will continue on this endeavor until success is archived.
This year, we made significant strides towards our objectives. We began the year with the ambition to integrate modern technology into the curriculum of Kabala Secondary School, and we have successfully achieved this. Through the collective efforts of our members, we raised the necessary funds to purchase 24 computers, ship them to Sierra Leone, and set them up for use by both students and faculty. Additionally, we installed solar panels to provide electricity, as the school previously lacked the necessary infrastructure to power the computers. These accomplishments represent the first two phases of our four-phase project. Read More
The third phase, which is perhaps the most critical, involves securing technical instructors to educate the students on modern technology and its benefits. Finding and retaining experts in modern electronics in our country is a challenging task, but it is essential for the success of our initiative.
The fourth phase focuses on establishing internet connectivity for the computer learning center. This remains an area where we are actively seeking funding to provide the necessary internet service. We are working diligently to secure the required funds, including seeking external donations. Our donations page is only a click away from here and no amount is too small.
